The Center for Next-Generation Medical Innovation’s disaster preparedness initiatives received the Outstanding Presentation Award at the 26th Conference on the Future of CRC and Clinical Trials 2026 in Kyoto.
Release Date:
The “26th Conference on the Future of CRC and Clinical Trials 2026 in Kyoto” was held over two days, September 12–13, 2026, at the Kyoto International Conference Center.
Our hospital presented a paper titled “Training Experience Over CRC Tenure! An Examination of the Utility of Joint In-House CRC and SMO Training for Disaster Response” and received the Outstanding Presentation Award from among a total of 193 presentations. In this presentation, with the Nankai Trough earthquake in mind, we reported on the results of joint study sessions and simulation drills conducted by in-house CRCs (Clinical Research Coordinators) and external CRCs, working together across organizational boundaries. The selection committee commended the presentation for its novel perspective—"Training Experience Over Years of Service!"—and recognized it as a practical initiative that could also contribute to disaster preparedness at other institutions.
Going forward, we will continue to expand our network of collaboration beyond this department to various other departments within the hospital, and we will work to establish a system that can protect both staff and patients in the event of a disaster.
