Kochi University Student Support Fund Scholarship (Open to All Faculties)

The "Kochi University Academic Support Fund Scholarship" is a non-repayable scholarship program funded by the "Kochi University Academic Support Fund," which is supported by donations from Kochi University faculty and staff, alumni, companies within Kochi Prefecture, and residents of the prefecture. Its purpose is to support students who face financial difficulties in pursuing their studies and to contribute to the development of human resources who will support the future of Kochi Prefecture and Japan.
Many of our donors support Kochi University students’ education while placing great expectations on their future achievements. Please make active use of this scholarship to focus on your studies and pursue your aspirations.

② Meet the household income criteria specified in the “Kochi University Criteria for Selection for Tuition Exemption and Deferment”

Kochi University School of Medicine Okayama Scholarship Program (for School of Medicine students)

This program provides one-year scholarships to students enrolled in the University’s School of Medicine who have difficulty covering their educational expenses (excluding international students). As a general rule, students who fall under the following categories are not eligible; however, this does not apply in cases of special circumstances.

1. Students who have not applied for a Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarship
2. Students who failed to meet the promotion requirements in the previous academic year, etc.

Applicants should consult with their academic advisor, have the "Reason for Recommendation" section of the designated application form (available from the Student Affairs Office) completed and signed, and submit it to the Student Affairs Office of the Faculty of Medicine and Hospital Administration. Applications should be submitted as soon as the need arises. Please note that only a limited number of students are selected each year.

Kochi University School of Medicine Kotani Scholarship (for students in the Department of Medicine)

This scholarship is awarded for one year to students enrolled in the School of Medicine who face financial difficulties in continuing their studies (excluding international students).
The Student Affairs Office will send notifications to Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) grant recipients (Categories II–IV) who are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

(1) Be a grant-type scholarship recipient of the Japan Student Services Organization (hereinafter referred to as “JASSO”) (excluding grant-type scholarship recipients selected under Support Category I).
(2) The student must not be receiving any other scholarships or loans, excluding those from the JASSO.
(3) The student must not have been granted a tuition exemption under Article 2 of the Kochi University Regulations on Tuition and Board Exemptions and Deferrals of Tuition Collection.
(4) The student must not have received any disciplinary action as prescribed in Article 20, Paragraph 2 of the Kochi University Regulations.

Kochi University Ikechi Scholarship (for students in the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Agricultural, Forestry, and Marine Sciences)

This scholarship is awarded to students (excluding international students) enrolled in the Department of Agricultural, Forestry, and Environmental Sciences within the Faculty of Agricultural, Forestry, and Marine Sciences who demonstrate academic excellence and strong character but face financial difficulties in covering their tuition and living expenses. Prospective applicants should contact the Academic Affairs Office in the Monobe General Affairs Division.
