◆ We are hosting the "Inspiration and Excitement in Science" project: "Let’s Preserve Records of Earthquake and Tsunami Disasters for Future Generations Using 3D Digital Technology!"

Date:

This program is designed to help elementary and middle school students understand and experience cutting-edge, world-class research findings obtained by research institutions and university laboratories.
Our ancestors carved characters into massive stones to record and pass down information about disasters caused by major earthquakes and typhoons in the past. However, these monuments have suffered damage from years of weathering, and the characters are becoming increasingly difficult to read. Therefore, an initiative is underway to create and preserve “digital disaster monuments” using 3D digital technology to make the inscriptions easier to read and bring them back to life. Participants will visit the actual disaster monuments to learn about major disasters that occurred in the past, and they will also use 3D printers to create their own digital disaster monuments, learning about and experiencing this cutting-edge effort to preserve records of natural disasters for future generations.
