 A roundtable discussion titled “Ten Years Since the Great East Japan Earthquake: What Is Sufficient and What Is Lacking in Kochi Prefecture,” organized by the Shikoku Branch of the General Incorporated Association of the General Insurance Association of Japan and featuring Faculty of Science and Technology will be streamed online starting at 12:00 a.m. on March 11. The event was held in Kochi City on January 28, 2021.

 During this roundtable discussion, Shinichi Takeda, Specially Appointed Professor at Miyagi University of Education; Kenichi Akimoto, Director of the Nankai Trough Earthquake Countermeasures Division, Crisis Management Department, Kochi Prefecture; and Professor Tadashi Hara exchanged views on the current state of disaster prevention in Kochi Prefecture and future countermeasures. Due to the spread of COVID-19, the roundtable was held without an audience, but the branch will stream the event on its website.
