As part of our university’s “Next-Generation Marine Resource Researcher Development Project”—a component of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)’s doctoral student support program, the “Next-Generation Researchers’ Challenging Research Program (SPRING)”—we have selected four students to receive funding starting this fiscal year.

Under the university’s “Project for Fostering Next-Generation Marine Resource Researchers (Project Director: Graduate School “Next-Generation Marine Resource Researcher Development Project” (Project Director: Graduate School of Integrated Arts and Sciences ) targets outstanding Doctoral Course research related to “the ocean”—a hallmark of our university. By providing an environment where students can devote themselves to research and an educational program that cultivates transferable skills, the project aims to ensure that graduates will play a central role in regional innovation across various fields as “next-generation marine resource researchers.”
