Release Date:
On Saturday, August 9, 2025, a delegation led by Ebenezer Odulo Ous, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, paid a courtesy call on President Hiroyuki Ujita.
Ebenezer Odulo Ous is a researcher specializing in entomology, originally from Tarkwa in the southwestern region of the Republic of Ghana. After graduating from the University of Ghana, he received a scholarship from the Ministry of Education (at the time) in 1989 and enrolled in the Master’s program (at the time) at the Graduate School of Agricultural Science at our university, where he earned his master’s degree in 1992.Upon returning to Ghana, he held numerous key positions at the University of Ghana and served as its Vice-Chancellor from 2016 to 2021.
The University of Ghana has maintained a long-standing relationship with our university, which began with his study abroad program, and this led to the signing of an international exchange agreement between our university and the University of Ghana in 2015.
This visit was arranged in conjunction with his engagement with a private international exchange organization. On the day of the visit, he toured the IoP Co-creation Center and exchanged views on expanding the exchange between our university and the University of Ghana beyond the traditional field of agricultural science.
On Monday, August 11, he visited the university again to watch the Kochi University performance at the 72nd Yosakoi Festival. This served as a valuable opportunity not only for academic exchange but also for cultural exchange between Japan and Ghana.
