As part of these efforts, the “East Wing of the Information Science Building”—a new educational and research facility at Faculty of Science and Technology—was completed in March 2026.

At the Open Campus event held on August 1, 2026, we hosted a laboratory showcase at the East Wing of the Information Science Building ( Department of Information Science). This event was incorporated into the university facility tour itinerary and attracted many high school students and their parents. As part of the department-specific program, laboratories listed at Department of Information Scienceintroduced their research and educational activities, conveying the appeal of learning and research in the field of information science at our university through interactions with faculty and students.Visitors showed great interest in the new educational and research environment as well as the state-of-the-art facilities, and could be seen listening intently to the exhibits and explanations provided by faculty and students. The venue was bustling with high school students and their parents throughout the day. Additionally, after the event concluded, faculty members from the Faculty of Science and Technology—who participate in the IDD educational program—took a commemorative photo to celebrate the completion of the East Wing of the Information Science Building.

Moving forward, the departments at Faculty of Science and Technology, Graduate School, Graduate School of Integrated Arts and Sciences, and Science and Technology Programwill continue to promote the IDD educational program from our base in the East Wing of the Information Science Building.
