Teacher Development Unit
We implement standards for teacher education at Kochi University, as well as course design, student teaching, care experience programs, and practical teaching seminars.
Our primary responsibilities include ensuring the smooth operation of teacher education courses and improving course quality. Specific duties are as follows:
- Matters concerning the university’s standards for teacher education and the design of courses based on these standards
- Matters Concerning Teaching Practicums
- Matters Concerning Care Experience
- Matters Concerning Teaching Practice
To evaluate the appropriateness of teacher education content and thereby contribute to its enhancement and development, we are establishing a Committee for the Improvement of Teacher Education Courses, chaired by the Director of the Teacher Development Unit.
The committee will deliberate on the following matters:
- Matters Concerning the Philosophy and Framework of Teacher Education
- Matters Concerning Improvements to Coursework Related to the Acquisition of Teaching Certificates
