医学専攻では、高い倫理観と豊かな人間性の涵養ならびに高度な医学的知識と技能の習得を教育理念とし、黒潮圏総合科学専攻、応用自然科学専攻との緊密な連携の下に、両専攻における自然科学と人間科学のパラダイムをも取り入れた教育研究体制を構築することにより、高知県の地域特性に根差した医学・医療の推進に寄与できる人材、国際的に通用する優れた医学研究者、リサーチマインドを持つ優れた臨床専門医（良医）を養成し、多様な社会的ニーズに対する柔軟な対応が可能で、底辺が広くレベルの高い医学研究および医療の達成を目指します。
