Graduate School

The Graduate School of Integrated Human and Natural Sciences at Kochi University comprises seven master's programs, one professional degree program, and three doctoral programs.

We create diverse and flexible educational programs to cultivate individuals capable of contributing to the development of our evolving local community.

We aim to provide education that can respond to the rapid changes in society, such as the advancement, diversification, informatization, and globalization of academic research, as well as the IT revolution.

We have introduced an educational system that systematically and intensively provides broad knowledge in medical science for individuals who did not graduate from a medical school (medical department).

In April 2011, our university became the first national university to launch midwifery education at the graduate school level.

We provide education based on individualized course plans tailored to each student's aptitudes and career paths, cultivating professionals who possess both advanced knowledge and technical skills.

With sociology, economics, and education as core academic fields, we cultivate professionals capable of contributing to regional revitalization and the regeneration and development of areas facing social and economic challenges.

We aim to cultivate highly specialized professionals who possess outstanding knowledge and skills in sports and the arts, and who can solve challenges such as cultural promotion by returning evidence-based research outcomes to local communities.　

With the school education scene in Kochi Prefecture in mind, it aims to train core teachers based on the integration of theory and practice.

We cultivate highly specialized professionals equipped with a sound perspective on nature, the Earth, and humanity, who can independently explore and solve problems.

The Department of Medicine holds as its educational philosophy the cultivation of high ethical standards and rich humanity, along with the acquisition of advanced medical knowledge and skills.

We conduct comprehensive research and education on "resources," "environment and society," "medical health," and "human sciences" within the aquatic, terrestrial, and atmospheric spheres.

The United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences is a doctoral program (3 years) established by Ehime University, Kagawa University, and Kochi University with the aim of conducting high-level education and research.
