The 7th Sukumo Bay University public online roundtable, “Creating Sustainable Satoumi Systems: Perspectives from Islands,” was held on September 8, 2024, as part of the common education course “Tosa no Umi no Kankyogaku: Thinking from the Sea of Kashiwajima.”

　The roundtable featured Ms. Atsuko Kujiramoto, Editor-in-Chief of ritokei, who spoke on satoumi and island community development. A panel discussion was also held with Ms. Kujiramoto, Mr. Masaru Kanda of the Kuroshio Biological Research Foundation, and Assoc. Prof. Satoru Ishizutsu of the Faculty of Regional Collaboration.

　2024年9月8日（日）、高知大学の共通教育科目「土佐の海の環境学：柏島の海から考える」の一環として、Zoomによる公開オンライン座談会（ミニシンポ）「自走する持続可能な里海づくり：シマからの視点」が開催されました。

　この座談会では、『ritokei（リトケイ）』統括編集長として国内400島余りの有人離島地域の情報発信および地域振興のサポートを行う鯨本あつこさんに、「離島における里海づくりとシマづくり」と題してお話しいただきました。また、鯨本さんに加えて、高知県柏島で長年海洋教育や環境保全活動を行っている黒潮実感センター理事長の神田優さん、高知大学地域協働学部の石筒覚准教授の3名で、パネルディスカッションを行いました。

　なお、本イベントは黒潮圏総合科学専攻の新保輝幸教授が関係する「土佐の海の環境学」に関連する取り組みとして紹介します。
