Ms. Zandvakili Zahra, a second-year student in the Graduate School of Kuroshio Science, received an Excellent Presentation Award at the Shikoku Branch Meeting of the Geological Society of Japan held at Kochi University on December 2, 2023.

　Under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Yoshiro Nishio of the Multidisciplinary Science Division, Ms. Zahra has studied crustal fluids related to earthquake generation. Her oral presentation reported changes in groundwater chemical composition before the 2018 Hokkaido Eastern Iburi earthquake.

　2023年12月2日（土）に高知大学で開催された日本地質学会四国支部会において、大学院黒潮圏総合科学専攻2年生のZandvakili Zahraさんが優秀講演賞を受賞しました。

　Zandvakiliさんは、総合科学系複合領域科学部門の西尾嘉朗准教授の指導の下、地震発生に関わる地殻流体の研究を行っており、今回は2018年北海道胆振東部地震前の地下水の化学組成の変化について口頭発表を行い、その内容が高く評価されました。
