Research by Ms. Mifumi Seto, a third-year doctoral student in the Kuroshio Science Program, and Assoc. Prof. Motoki Higa was published in Journal of Vegetation Science, with the electronic version released on June 19, 2024.

　The study showed that a ridge-to-valley topographic gradient, which produces microclimatic gradients such as humidity and wind-speed gradients, influences the distribution of vascular epiphytes in forests.

　黒潮圏総合科学専攻博士課程3年生の瀨戸美文さんと比嘉基紀准教授の研究成果が、Journal of Vegetation Scienceに掲載され、2024年6月19日に電子版が公開されました。

　本研究では、尾根—谷勾配によって生じる空中湿度や風速などの微気象勾配が、樹木上に生育する維管束着生植物の分布に影響することが明らかにされました。
