Ms. Mifumi Seto, a third-year student in the Graduate School of Kuroshio Science, received the FY2024 Encouragement Award of the Society of Vegetation Science. The award ceremony was held at the 29th Annual Meeting of the Society of Vegetation Science at the University of Tsukuba on October 19, 2024.

　The award recognizes young researchers who have made original and promising academic contributions through outstanding papers published in the society's journal. Ms. Seto has conducted research on the distribution of vascular epiphytes and ecological characteristics of grassland plants.

　大学院黒潮圏総合科学専攻3年生の瀨戸美文さんが、2024年度植生学会奨励賞を受賞し、2024年10月19日に筑波大学で開催された植生学会第29回大会において授与式が執り行われました。

　この賞は、植生学会誌に優秀な論文を発表し、独創性と将来性をもって学術的貢献をなしたと認められる若手研究者に、植生学会から贈られるものです。瀨戸さんはこれまで、維管束着生植物の分布に関する研究に取り組み、国際誌への論文掲載やシンポジウムの企画・開催を行ってきました。また、草原生植物の生態的特性に関する研究にも取り組み、国内誌に論文が受理されました。これらの成果が高く評価され、本賞の受賞に繋がりました。
