Research by Prof. Gyo Itani of the Kuroshio Science Program and Dr. Yumi Henmi, a graduate of the program and Assistant Professor at Kyoto University, was published online in Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom on July 15, 2025.

　The study reported the first record of the snapping shrimp Betaeus levifrons from the Pacific coast of Japan, proposed the Japanese name “Kakure-teppouebi-modoki,” and summarized knowledge of organisms associated with burrows of the mud shrimp Upogebia major.

　黒潮圏総合科学専攻の伊谷行教授と、同専攻修了生で京都大学フィールド科学教育研究センター助教の邉見由美博士による研究成果が、2025年7月15日付でJournal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdomにオンライン掲載されました。

　本研究では、テッポウエビ類の一種Betaeus levifronsを日本太平洋岸から初めて記録し、「カクレテッポウエビモドキ」の和名を提唱するとともに、アナジャコUpogebia majorの巣穴に共生する生物相の知見を整理しました。
