Research by Dr. Mao Hokin of the Center for Creative Renewal, Prof. Shun-ichiro Oshima of the Kuroshio Science Division, and collaborators was published online in Aquacultural Engineering.

　The study examined the bactericidal effects of UV-C LED irradiation against fish pathogenic bacteria and its potential to suppress bacterial infections in recirculating aquaculture systems. The findings indicate the possibility of using UV-C LEDs as a new sterilization method in aquaculture.

　希望創発センターの宝金実央特任助教と総合科学系黒潮圏科学部門の大島俊一郎教授らの研究成果が、Aquacultural Engineering誌オンライン版に掲載されました。

　本研究では、魚病細菌に対するUV-C LED照射の殺菌効果と、閉鎖循環式陸上養殖システムにおける細菌感染症の拡大抑制効果を検討しました。魚類養殖現場における新しい殺菌技術としての応用が期待されます。
