Our five-department structure integrates science education focused on logical thinking with engineering education emphasizing practical application, cultivating professionals capable of scientifically solving diverse societal challenges.

高知大学理工学部は、自然科学の基礎を支える「数学物理学科」、コンピュータサイエンスの基礎から応用までを扱う「情報科学科」、南四国の豊かな自然を生かす「生物科学科」、化学と生命科学の基礎に高度な技能を積み上げる「化学生命理工学科」、総合的な防災力を身につける「地球環境防災学科」の５学科構成です。
これまで理学部で培われてきた論理的思考を重視する理学教育と、実用を重視する工学教育を融合させた新しい理工学部として、社会が直面する様々な問題を科学的に解決できる人材を育成します。

We educate students in mathematics and physics—key fields underpinning the natural sciences—as a single discipline.

Department of Information Science

We cultivate professionals capable of contributing logically and flexibly in an advanced information society by mastering a specialized knowledge system in information science that emphasizes mathematical foundations.

Department of Biological Sciences

We provide a broad education in biological sciences, making the most of the rich natural environment of Southern Shikoku.

Department of Chemical and Life Science Engineering

We provide science and engineering education that builds upon a foundation in chemistry and life sciences, advancing toward more advanced and specialized education in fields such as the environment, materials, and life sciences.

Department of Global Environmental Disaster Prevention

We cultivate highly skilled professionals and community leaders who possess comprehensive disaster prevention capabilities and can contribute to building and developing a sustainable society that coexists with nature.
