Medical Science Course

Objective

Modern medicine has advanced by fusing results of development of natural science, including, physics, chemistry and engineering. Additionally, modern medicine has much speedily developed based on outcomes of life science such as genome science, molecular science and developmental science (occurrence, differentiation and regeneration). It also contributes to found recent advanced medicine, for instance, gene therapy, regenerative medicine and reproductive medicine. Apart from development of modern medicine, the social environment surrounding medical science and medicine has drastically transformed; harmonizing between brain death, organ transplant, in-vitro fertilization, gene therapy and bioethics led by rapidly-developing-medicine, change in disease structure caused by super aging society and rise in importance of patients’ QOL “Quality of Life”. Development and fulfilment of Medical Science targeting to form harmony of natural science, human-driven-humanities and medicine is hoped. With this situation, it will be possible to train specialists capable of comprehensively addressing social issues such as medicine and welfare getting complicated in future. Thus, it is required to establish education and research system leading graduates from non-medical undergraduate schools which are not only natural science (science, agriculture, pharmacy and engineering) but also humanity (psychology, sociology, economy and education).

In Medical Science Course, the educational objective is to train graduates from non-medical undergraduate schools to become researchers or educators much sophisticated in medical science by systematic and intensive education regarding wide range of knowledge about medical science. Additionally, the course aims to train capability of comprehensively addressing social issues on the basis of medical scientific knowledge.

Admission Policy

We hope to enroll those who are willing to contribute in playing role of educator or trainer at medical-related research institute, private company or hospital by utilizing professional knowledge and experience in medical science.
